Ashleigh + Ed

Ashleigh and Ed's wedding was the perfect event for a luminous couple so openly adored and celebrated by their family and friends. It was important to Ashleigh to have a wedding that felt intimate, quietly elevated, and authentic to who she and Ed were as a couple. We centered their design around Ashleigh’s relaxed elegance, the couple's love of Scandinavian simplicity, and their passion for the great outdoors. 

As the weather was too chilly in the late fall for an outdoor wedding, we designed a ceremony and reception space that brought nature indoors.  What transpired was a work of minimalist drama. Rather than stealing attention away from the natural beauty outside the Roundhouse’s vast windows, we chose to let the space breathe, creating an air of tranquility. A single statement piece tied the design together - a massive chandelier adorned with wild greenery. It framed the ceremony space below as guests descended into the room down the stairs, and captured their imaginations as they danced beneath it into the night. The greenery theme was implemented across their wedding - from the bridesmaids’ bouquets and towering centerpieces to the calligraphed escort cards adorned with fresh leaves and wax seals that bore the guests’ table numbers. 

Creative Director, Natalie Faye Fern, began the wedding design and planning process with Ashleigh while Ashleigh was still living in Australia. Inspired by Ashleigh and Ed’s long-distance relationship and their frequent travels around the world, each table number was custom illustrated with a different global location significant to their relationship - and in chronological order.
